Symptoms
See (with soapy water test) or hear air leaking between hose and valve stem
Possible causes
-
Damaged valve stem seal in hose
-
Damaged valve stem
-
Loose hose connection at valve stem
What to do
-
Check valve stem seal for damage. If damaged, replace hose or hose seal. Damaged hose seals are often caused by over-tightening.
-
Check valve stem for damage. If damaged, replace the valve stem.
-
Confirm hose is tightened to airtight and then add 3/4 turn. Use the following Sound Check to confirm the connection is airtight: while tightening the hose, listen for the brief release of air to stop. This indicates that the gasket is contacting the valve stem.
If issue continues
If the tire continues to leak at the connection between the hose and valve stem after completing these checks, contact Aperia Support.
If possible, provide the vehicle or asset information, affected tire position, and a description of where the leak is occurring. Photos of the hose connection and valve stem may also help identify the issue.
